The Spirit of Prayer

George Mueller's prayer life is awe-inspiring.  He prayed 52 years for a friend of his to come to faith in Jesus Christ. Mueller died shortly before the friend was converted.

When asked about his prayer life Mueller responded: 

"I live in the spirit of prayer. I pray as I walk about, when I lie down and when I rise up, and the answers are always coming. Thousands and tens of thousands of times have my prayers been answered. When once I am persuaded that a thing is right and for the glory of God I go on praying for it until the answer comes. George Mueller never gives up!"

I can love you.

Communist Officer told a Christian he was beating, "I am almighty, as you suppose your God to be. I can kill you." The Christian answered, "The power is all on my side. I can love you while you torture me to death."
